Absolute Storage Units was built late in 2003 and opened in January 2004

Location
We are conveniently located left of the first roundabout on Sunshine Avenue heading north on Te Rapa Road (just before the Caltex Service Station).

Construction
We have built to the majority of the boundaries of this site with tilt slab concrete making it secure and fireproof with the units themselves constructed from maxim board. This board consists of 36mm thick solid sheets ( a 6 mtr x 2.4mtr sheet weighs in excess of 300kgs ) which are used for all interior walls giving a nice smooth surface with waterproof properties to pack your storage goods up against.

Security
We have swipe card access with separate entry and exit gates. CCTV surveillance. Security lighting for after hours access. We also provide a good solid padlock for your convenience. The majority of the site is built to the boundary with either tilt slab concrete or solid concrete block wall with the remainder being enclosed with security fencing.

Sizes

We have sizes ranging from as small as 1 x 3 mtrs, 2 x 2.2mtrs, 2 x 3 mtrs, 3 x 3 mtrs, 4 x 3 mtrs, 5 x 3 mtrs,
6 x 3 mtrs, 7 x 3 mtrs. All our units are 2.45 mtrs in height.

Grounds
Our grounds are fully concreted.

We have a Kea Trailer (measuring 1.95 x 1.3 mtrs) to use for your convenience.
A Ford Transit Van is also available (conditions apply).
We offer complimentary rodent bait and we also provide you with a good robust padlock for you to use.

General Self Storage Info
Self storage facilities may vary in terms of the type of environment they offer and their general lay out. Most will offer unit sizes ranging from a wardrobe for just a few items, right up to units for large house lots, vehicles or a business utility for convenience.

The Actual self storage units on offer may also vary. They can for example be purpose built light weight garage type buildings, shipping containers or of a more commercial grade construction. Some facilities have all units at ground level while others choose to use more than one level specially for small units.

In all cases, self storage companies should be committed to keeping their environment and their units clean and dry and free from rodents. They may have the best security measures in the world but they will be of no use to you if your goods become water damaged or eaten by pests.

All self storage facilities will have their own standards to adhere to. If you're unsure about the state of the facility or their units ask to see inside a unit as this will resolve any issues you may be unsure about.

The self storage environment you choose will ultimately depend on your wants and needs, your ease of access and on the location.
